Shoaib’s Big Mouth Troubles Him Again

Written by F Mirza on April 6th, 2008   (123 views)

Shoaib Akhtar is the second name of trouble. More often than not, he creates trouble for himself in a grand style.

Recently, in order to gain more sympathy and to show his loyalty he revealed that he was offered a suitcase full of notes in Johannessburg and in India for match fixing but he refused. But the poor guy doesn’t know perhaps about the rules and regulations of the International Cricket Council.

The ICC Code of Conduct states that players are required to report any approach made to them by a bookmaker or any other corrupt approach to their captain, team manager, a senior board official or to the Anti-Corruption and Security Unit (ACSU). Failing to do so could lead to ban of up to five years.

Soon the anti-corruptions officials from ICC will visit Pakistan to interview Shoaib and they will surely ask him some tough questions. It’s also learned that PCB has ignited ICC in this regard, and if somehow PCB doesn’t ban Shoaib for five years due to pressure, ICC will do so.

So it seems that Shoaib is out after all.
