Shoaib and Asif Got A Relief

Premier pace attack of Pakistan has just got its independence to bowl and literally they have got a new cricketing life. The whole affair was a blunder at the part of players, Pakistan Cricket Board, Wada and media. But at the end of the day, due to a nice and welcome decision by world court of sports, it has all settled down reasonably.

Shoaib Akhtar and Mohammad Asif now have to prove that they were worth this fight. They have to make sure that they dont fell pray to any other thing in their future career. Shoaib’s Career has remained lucklustre due to his inordinate behaviour. Now he has got very few years to play lethaly, and he should be very professional and responsible now.

Mohammad Asif has a long way to go, but if he really wants to survive in the international arena, he also needs to come to his senses. He should learn to respect seniors and leave the path of Shoaib Akhtar. The sparkling world of fans and fame is very deceptive and history tells us that this has ruined the careers of many promising players, so Asif should be on his toes from now on. Luck doesnt smile everytime.

Now the international court for sports affair have accepted the arguments of PCB and have rejected the appeal by the world anti doping agency, PCB should enforce dicipline with a force. Players must also realize that they are playing for the nationa and they represent billions of people’s dignity.

Last year, before Champions Trophy in India, both players were found positive in the doping test, conducted internally by PCB. PCB’s anti-doping commission punished Mohammad Asif with one year and Shoaib Akhtar with two year ban. They punishment was itself funny, as two players with the same crime got different punishments.

Then after the appeal of both players, PCB’s applet tribunal wrote off the punishment, but PCB didnt allow them to take part in world cup with a fear of target doping test by ICC. The WADA came on the scence and appealed against the removal of punishment of both players in the international court, and now court has just rejected their appeal, on the basis that it was an internal matter of PCB.
