Shoaib Akhtar vs Shahid Afridi

Written by F Mirza on October 10th, 2007   (1,988 views)

Due to the mud-slinging of both Shahid Afridi and Shoaib Akhtar, world is getting some very lesson-oriented interesting insight information about the grave situation of Pakistnai team coordination. The crack came when Shoaib Akhar entertained Mohammad Asif with the bat, just before the start of Twenty20 world cup in South Africa this year.

All the wrath fell on Shoaib Akhtar. He was sent back to Pakistan from South Africa, and was sacked from the national team. Even the patern-in-chief President of Pakistan General Pervez Musharraf asked Dr. Nasim Ashraf, the chairman of Pakistani Cricket Board (PCB) to take a strict notice of all this affair and ensure that it never happens again.

Nasim Ashraf followed the orders, and ordered an inquiry and now Shoaib Akhtar is facing an inquiry in front of a disciplinary committee, whose proceedings has started in Lahore. Shoaib Akhtar said that he is sorry as he hit Mohammad Asif, but his real problem was with Shahid Afridi who was constantly mocking him, and Mohammad Asif was just smiling. Shoaib, instead of hitting Afridi hit Asif and abused Shahid Afridi. Shahid Afrid first feigned innocence of the whole matter, but then took advantage of the situation and said that the real problem was the brother of Shoaib Akhtar who is trying to create a rift. Shahid Afridi said that he was basically trying to mend the ways of Shaoib, and was trying to soothe him. He also added that he has helped Shoaib upon many occasions, and have barred him from joining the bad company.

Shoaib said that he refused to join Shahid Afridi to go to the night clubs in South Africa for drinking and other funs, and that is why out of sheer mal-intentions he started slinging false accusation. Shoaib also added that it was in the notice of Shahid that they were using supplements which ultimately resulted in their positive dope test, but Shahid didnt guide them. According to Shaoib Akhtar, Shahid Afridi is the remains of the gambling mafia, and is the main reason of disintegration among the team members.

In a recent development, lawyer of Shoaib Akhtar has requested PCB to also launch disciplinary committee against Shahid Afridi who held a press conference. According to the lawyer of Shoaib, Abid Munto, one accusation on Shoaib is that he held a meetup with media contrary to PCB’s rules, and now Shahid Afridi has done the same, and so should face the same music.
