Recent reports suggests that Pakistani pacer Shoaib Akhtar has been marked for a stern punishment by Pakistani Cricket Board (PCB). This stern punishment is nothing less than ending his not-so-brilliant career forever.
In the recent meeting held in the head office of PCB, not a single board member including the chairman spoke in the favour of Rawalpindi Express, as Shoaib Akhtar is known, and every one was just livid about him. When PCB contacted the team mates, they were also apprehensive about the Shoaib’s attitutde, and even the manager of the team called Shoaib ‘a Psycho’. Former players have also been not seen speaking in the favour of the media-favourite speedster.
Shoaib Akhtar was sent back from South Africa just before the start of Twenty20 World Cup, when he hit co-bowler Mohammad Asif with the bat, and abused other players. PCB has also been very wary of Shoaib’s tempestuous behaviour, but this incident, not only harmed the team, but also ridiculed the good name of the country. President of Pakistan, who is also the chief patron of the cricket board, also took notice and instructed chairman PCB Dr. Nasim Ashraf to not compromise on discipline.
But as Shoaib Akhtar is, he did a press conference after his return from South Africa and blamed every one. Shoaib even made an earlier interview with Indian TV, and criticized the team management. Now the disciplinary committee has almost finished its investigation, and is about to recommend a very strict action against the fast bowler. It is reported that the punishment would include a possible ban for a considerable period, and ouster from many forth coming series.
Though the disciplinary committee will start hearing the case against Shoaib Akhtar from 6th October, they have made their minds to teach a hard-and-fast lesson to the fast bowler. All the member of this committee; chief operating officer Shafqat Naghmi, director operations Zakir Khan, director HR Nadeem Akram and media manager doctor Ahsan Hameed Malik have voiced their angry opinions about the Shoaib Akhtar.
After a plethora of scandals against Shoaib Akhtar, it seems that now PCB has lost its passion with him, and now they have decided to get rid of him once and for all.More on:Ahsan Hameed Malik, Dr. Nasim Ashraf, Mohammad Asif, Pakistan, PCB, Pervez Musharraf, Rawalpindi Express, Shafqat Naghmi, Shoaib Akhtar, Twenty20 World Cup
