In a very stunning advancement just before the Zimbabwe tour of Pakistan, Shahid Khan Afridi has also put his name forward for the captaincy of the national squad. Already a crisis is in the offing, as Younus Khan and Shoaib Malik are vying for the top job.
Initially Younus Khan was contacted by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for the job as Shoaib Malik wasn’t fit. Younus showed his consent, but Shoaib Malik took it as a danger for his future, and told media and PCB at the same time that he was fit and available to lead the Pakistan. Younus Khan also told PCB that he wasn’t really sure now to play under Shoaib and thought that he could benefit the team with his experience.
Two groups were formed in the team, and Shahid Afridi was in the Shoaib Malik’s group, but now he himself has launched his name for the top job in the team. He has told media in Karachi that he has been playing for the last 13 years, and now at this stage of his career wants to lead the team, and its just about the time.
Ripples are getting vicious as the days are passing.More on:Pakistan, PCB, Shahid Afridi, Shoaib Malik, Younus Khan, zimbabwe, Zimbabwe in Pakistan 2008
