In the current series against India, Pakistani team hasn’t clicked yet. Neither there is any chance that they would click at all. They are like an out-of-order mouse device which at first place doesn’t get clicked; if somehow it clicks it doesn’t produce any good.
Now the bizarre captain of Pakistan, Shoaib Malik has said that they have learned a lot from the four matches in India, and will apply their lessons in the fifth One Day International which would be played on Sunday in Jaipur. Now that’s astounding, as one wonders that what is it that he didn’t learn in his hundreds of matches and learned that in just four matches?
One thing we have learned, which by the way most of the die-hard followers of the game already knew that our skipper is an idiot. He was also involved in match fixing scandal, and there are reports that he had links with the gambling mafia. He has never produced any considerable performance. You cannot call him a bowler and you cannot call him a batsman and fielding is just below par. In the past his indifferent attitude had earned him lots of abuse, but he stuck with the team of Bob Woolmer, because he had business links with the son of former coach. He got the jackpot of captaincy because weird policy of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and his luck continues and the newly appointed governing body of PCB has once again appointed him to lead Pakistan for the next year.
By appointing him as captain Pakistan tried to replicate the experience of South Africa, who appointed Graeme Smith a fresh blood captain by ignoring most of the aged players like Jacques Kallis and Shaun Pollock. But there is a difference. Kallis and Pollock didn’t threat the team, and they didn’t blackmail the board, as Mohammad Yousuf and Younus Khan did. They didn’t erect a team within the team, and they have run for the their lives in order to retain their place in the team, but whereas in Pakistani team Younus Khan makes a century in one match and then screw the team for the next fifty matches and so is the case with the other clowns like Shahid Afridi, vicious cycle of openers, Kamran Akmal and the rest.
