Pakistan India Series Not in India
November 26, 2008 | General
Pakistan Cricket Board is doing all it can to ensure that India travel to Pakistan in January next year to play three Tests, five one-dayers and a twenty20 international. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has said that it would send a team to Pakistan only if it receives clearance from the Indian government to travel.
But the real game is that now Indian board is pushing PCB to play the series in India and they are also not sharing the revenue. The upcoming India-Pakistan series shouldn’t be played in India and it would be more appropriate that it is played at a neutral venue in the event that India refuse to tour.
India has already had many series like that of Australia, then England and New Zealand and they have also seen the Indian Cricket League and there are also series lined up, whereas the Pakistani soil is dried up and yearning for some series, so it would be unfair if ICC supports BCCI in its bid to shift the series to India.
Indians are showing reluctance about touring Pakistan because of security apprehensions for what is an all-important series for Pakistan, but they should dare it and give preference to the game.
