Pakistani coach Geoff Lawson has said that he is not ready to include Mohammad Yousuf, Danish Kaneria and Shahid Afridi.
”Lawson said Yousuf should not be in the ODI squad because of his poor fielding while Afridi, despite playing some 300 ODIs, still plays in irresponsible manner which affects the team badly,” Lawson has told Pakistan Cricket Board.
I don’t agree with Lawson on the name Yousuf to be ousted from the team, but I wholeheartedly agree with Lawson on the Afridi and Kaneria. Yes Afridi has screwed the team enough, and he has proved time and again that he is more harmful for the team than beneficial.
Yousuf has scored 8873 ODI runs from 256 matches at an average of 43.07 and he makes up for his poor fielding because of his runs and yes his running is pathetic but it can also be ignored in front of his class.
Lawson should talk to Mohammad Yousuf and try to convince him on the fact that Yousuf needs to improve on his fielding and running between the wicket, if Yousuf wants to remain in the international arena.More on:Danish Kaneria, Geoff Lawson, Mohammad Yousuf, Pakistan, Shahid Afridi
