Kaneria vows to make place in ODI squad
Leg-spinner Danish Kaneria has expressed disappointment over his continued exclusion from the ODI squad but has vowed to make his place in the limited-over games soon through his convincing performance in the Test matches.
In a TV interview, Kaneria, who took 15 wickets in the three-Test match series against South Africa, said that after giving reasonable performance in the Tests, he was expecting his inclusion in the ODI squad but selectors once again disappointed him.
“I eagerly want to play in the ODIs but I do not know that on what grounds the selectors always neglect me,” he expressed.
“If you have watched the ongoing ODIs between South and Pakistan, you will observe that there is a need of genuine leg-spin bowler. What should I say more?” he asked.
However, Kaneria was hopeful for his inclusion in the final fifteen-man squad for the forthcoming World Cup. “If I get a chance to play in the World Cup, I will show that I am also suitable for the ODI games,” he added.
