In Pakistan there is a tradition that no body leaves his place without humiliation. Inzamam-ul-Haq, the former Pakistani captain is no exception. After much politics and hassle, he became the captain, and at that time, people were joking about it. He proved to be the most lazy, lame, stubborn and devastating captain, Pakistan ever had. In his tenure as a captain, Pakistan didn’t win any significant trophy or any major series against any solid opponent. He ignited contours within the team, and he ruled the team like a dictator. The biggest allegation upon him is that he didn’t let the team flourish, and team remained stagnant and its ills are still very much alive and hampering the team.
Scandals after scandals, and controversies after controversies, he at last left the team after the dismal world cup in Caribbean. But after leaving the team, instead of cooling it down, or repenting his role, he started a string of efforts to undermine the national team. He joined Indian Cricket League, and openly started to entice the Pakistani players to join ICL and leave the green color. He managed to lure Abdul Razzaq, Imran Farhat and Mohammad Yousuf. PCB should some presence of mind, and brought the Yousuf back at very heavy price. Inzamam with the help of former wicket keeper Moin Khan and opener Ramiz Raja, continued to harm the integrity of the team. Now PCB, has done a good job, and brought Inzi overboard. PCB paid Inzamam a hefty amount of Rs. 10 million in cash and also some other benefits and has allowed him a graceful exit from the international cricket by including him in the final test against South Africa in Lahore.
In return Inzamam has promised to not to intervene in the PCB matters, and he has also given his word to not make any efforts to entice players from the national team from ICL or anything else. In a recent press conferrence helt at National Stadium, Inzi announced that he would play his last test match for Pakistan, and he would never forget the win of 92 world cup in Australia. He said that he always loved to play for Pakistan, but a sorry chain of events resulted in his not-so-graceful exit from the ODI arena.
Pakistan Cricket Board’s chief Dr. Nasim Ashraf also lauded the services of Inzamam and said that Pakistan would never forget his services, and he said that PCB has decided to label the upcoming test match of the series as ‘Inzi Test’. Dr. Nasim is the master of such kinds of funny clips. He is certainly one hell of a labeller, whereas the chief selector Salahuddin Sallu was initially adamant to not to include Inzi in the test squad, but then due to the pressure from the chief, he agreed to give Inzi a good career ending.More on:Abdul Razzaq, Caribbean, Dr. Nasim Ashraf, icl, Imran Farhat, Inzamam, Mohammad Yousuf, Moin Khan, Pakistan, PCB, Ramiz Raja, salahuddin sallu, World Cup
