Imran Farhat’s Folly

Written by F Mirza on May 16th, 2007   (326 views)

As if his betise-rich batting and proven imbecility in opening the innings was’nt enough, former Pakistani opener Imran Farhat showed his ill-manners by indulging in a verbal fight with the newly appointed paid chief selector Salahuddin Sallu.

Though the exact words are not made public by any party, the alleged news is that Imran Farhat was “shocked” by the remarks of Sallahuddin Sallu, that Imran needs to improve his technique and temper, if he wants to be anywhere near the Pakistani camp.

Before the world cup, in couple of series, the wretched batting display by Imran Farhat is not a secret. His blind flashing off side the offstump, and his un-willingness to stay at the crease is beyond doubt. Despite of the coaching tips by former deceased Pakistani coach Bob Woolmer and other senior players, he didnt show any signs of improvement.

Due to players like him, Pakistani opening has become a fun in the world of cricket. He with his notorious bandana and poor shot selection have become a matter of jest throughout the country.

This recent conduct by him shows his lack of understanding and restrain to learn. The disciplinary action taken by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) against him is laudable and will set an example for all the junior players, who, after stroking two or three fours, consider themselves the equivalent of Sachin or Ponting.
