ICL’s Notice to Mohammad Yousuf

Indian Cricket League has been instrumental in the efforts of devastating the Pakistan’s national cricket team, with the help of some of the former senior players of Pakistan, who prefer money over the national cause. ICL, didn’t even stress more on enticing their own players from India, but they put their whole financial and cajoling efforts to lure the Pakistani cricketers.

In their efforts, the succeeded to attract some old, rejected and humiliated players from Pakistan. Nation and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) though was sad upon the decision of some of the Pakistani players to join ICL, but their real shock came, when the star of the nation Mohammad Yousuf joined ICL. The news was in the public domain that Inzamam-ul-Haq was the key man who played the trick, and maliciously convince Yousuf to leave Pakistan’s team and join ICL. It was a real morale-breaking thing for the fans across Pakistan. Mohammad Yousuf has always remained a strong symbol of inspiration and is considered as one of the those very rare players in the team, who are honest and not-so-involved in politics.

Fortunately PCB realized it. Though initially the stubborn and stern attitude of chairman PCB weighed all the players alike who joined ICL. But soon PCB came to its senses, especially after the hollow performance in Twenty20 world cup that all is not well, and team is not more than a house of cards in the absence of Mohammad Yousuf. PCB came to face the fact that team could do very well in the absence of Inzi, Abdul Razzaq, Imran Farhat and team doesn’t really need the likes of Moin Khan. But Mohammad Yousuf was the man, who is inevitable.

Our one inferiority complex is that if ‘Gora’ approves of anything, only then we consider that legitimate. When ICC gave the award of test players of the year to Mohammad Yousaf, then PCB decided for sure that they had to bring the Yousuf back. It’s now clear that Yousuf was also always with the team, and he just wanted a reassurance and a gesture of respect. Though even then Dr. Nasim Ashraf delayed the meeting with Yousuf, just to show his authority, Yousuf promptly agreed to play for the team.

Now ICL has given a legal notice to Mohammad Yousaf upon breaking the agreement. Hell with the ICL. PCB should also sue ICL for enticing the players with money and other benefits, or better let the ICL rot in India. ICL has given 24 hour to Yousuf for reply, Yousuf should kick the money-studded butt of Kapil Dev for 24 seconds. Kapil Dev can enjoy the “Aaloo”, Yousuf is ours.
