Governing Body of PCB

In a recent pleasant surprise Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board said that he now truly was feeling the dire requirement of some method into the affairs of the board, as there are lots and lots of small and big problem, which arise every day, which couldn’t deal on ad hoc basis. He admitted that he wasn’t that much enthusiastic about the implementation of the PCB’s constitution, as he thought it impractical, but now after spending a considerable time at the helm of affairs, he is totally in the favor of it.

Though the present chairman was literally pushed into implementing the constitution, and he showed a very bitter resistance in that regard, but he now takes the all credit. Anyway, credit or not credit, thankfully he now understands the importance and relevance of the law in the cricket. But the things are moving painfully slow, but at least they are moving.

In the wake of approved constitution, at last chairman PCB has sent the names of fifteen members of the governing board to the President, who is also the Patron-in-chief of the cricket board. According to the constitution, after the placement of governing board, all the financial and other administrative affairs of the board will be executed and looked-after by this board. The governing board consists of six technocrats, two former test cricketers, two organizational representatives, and five regional representatives will be there.

Chairman PCB was livid after the insulting defeat of PCB XI by the hands of guest South Africa team in Lahore, in which South Africa beat the hosts by 176 runs. South Africa made 328 runs at the loss of 4 wickets. Mark Boucher and AB de Villiers made centuries and in return the whole of PCB team got out after making 152 runs. But chairman smiled forcefully at the end of the match and told media that very soon, perhaps this week, the governing board will start working, and their first meeting will be held in Qaddaffi stadium.
