Two players, who never really posed any grave disciplinary problems for the team, board and game have just been dropped by the board from the squad of twenty20 world cup which will be held in South Africa after some weeks.
Extremism is finished upon the board. In its experimentation, they tilt the balance to one side or the other. This time they are hell bent on wipe out the experience from the team altogether. Its good thing to give chance to the youngsters, but its evil to drop your ace batsman and experienced all-rounders.
Its beyond doubt that Abdul Razzaq hasnt got any significance intelligence and he isn’t sharp enough when it comes to the intricacies of game, but he has been proved useful and handy at numerous occasions in the ODIs, especially in the slog overs. He has also been a good bowler, though not that successful, but he is an asset for the short format of the game for sure.
Mohammad Yousuf is the one and only proper and world class batsman we have right now in the middle order. Its extremely illogical that board has included the garbage like Younis Khan, and has thrown out class-act like Yousuf. For many years now, Yousuf has kept his nose to the grindstone and has been a fundamental block of Pakistani squad.
Though Salahuddin Sallu has regretted that they had to oust Yousuf from the twenty20, but he made the pretext that they had to take this hard decision in order to inject new blood into the team and they couldn’t imagine the Test team without Yousuf. What a lame duck statement. Another “brilliant” board official said that they had excluded both the players to give them rest . One assured that there careers haven’t finished and they are an asset for the team. They also said that the selection of team for twenty20 world cup is fantastic and according to the situation.
How could they even imagine Pakistani team in any format without Yousuf is beyond comprehension. Get rid of Younis Khan, and bring Yousuf back on red carpet.More on:Abdul Razzaq, Mohammad Yousuf, Pakistan, PCB, Twenty20 World Cup
