Eight Pakistan players to join coaching camp

Five fast bowlers and three opening batsmen of the Pakistan cricket team will join the Specialization Coaching Camp at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore on Friday.

These players were with the national team that won the three-match series against Sri Lanka at Abu Dhabi (UAE) by the margin of 2-1.

The Specialization Coaching Camp for fast bowlers and opening batsmen is already in progress at NCA and will conclude on June 3.

Mudassar Nazar Director Game Development, Aaqib Javed Chief Coach Academies and former captain Wasim Akram are supervising this camp.

The players to join the camp on return from Abu Dhabi are Salman Butt, Imran Nazir, Mohammad Hafeez (all openers), Mohammad Sami, Najaf Shah, Umar Gul, Muhammad Asif and Rao Iftikhar Anjum (all fast bowlers).

Also invited to the camp is pace spearhead Shoaib Akhtar. The national

selection committee in consultation with Director Game Development had named 21 fast bowlers and 13 opening batsmen for this 19-day camp.

After gaining full strength, the camp will comprise Shoaib Akhtar, Salman Butt, Mohammad Asif, Imran Nazir, Umar Gul, Mohammad Hafeez, Mohammad Sami, Imran Farhat, Rao Iftikhar Anjum, Khurram Manzoor, Najaf Shah, Babar Naeem, Abdul Rauf, Khalid Latif, Mohammad Irshad, Shan Masood, Mohammad Khalil, Agha Sabir, Junaid Zia, Wajid Ali, Uzair-ul-Haq, Nasir Jamshed, Anwar Ali, Ahmed Shahzad, Kashif Daud, Asif Zakir, Shakeel-ur-Rehman, Mohammad Aamer, Rahatullah, Akhtar Ayub, Jamshed Ahmad, Farhan Ayub, Wahab Riaz (Lahore), Sohail Tanvir and Mohammad Junaid Khan.
